A NEW OPPORTUNITY FOR SERVICERS
Banca d’Italia has released on February 12th, 2025, in execution of d.lgs 116/2024, the new provisions for the management of non performing loans. These provisions mark a turning point for Servicers of NPLs, who can now change into NPL Managers (“GCS” according to the italian taxonomy).
The new provisions mainly apply to NPLs originated by Banks, with the exception of credit originated by Companies or referring to the public Treasury.
The deregulation of credit transfer exclusively applies to NPLs, which shall be handled by appointed and monitored NPLs Managers (“GCS”).
